TSO C164 Certification

Tempe, Az., February 5, 2009-- NIVISYS Industries, LLC produces the FIRST and ONLY night vision goggle receiving FAA approval for civil aviation. Serious problem, incredible solution!  Background info.: As of this date, the NTSB is holding hearings in Washington D.C. over the major problem of emergency response helicopter crashes. Of these crashes some 49% are at night and night medical operations are a lower percentage of the overall day operations, so this represents a skewing of the results making night operations a much higher risk element and a higher portion of the crashes on a call for call basis.  Crashes kill and injure hard to replace highly-trained pilots and medical personnel, innocents on the ground and patients in their charge. Crashes destroy expensive helicopters and remove them from the area needing them most.  This crisis is serious. First the NTSB hearings are so newsworthy that all the major news television networks covered them on the evening news. The networks did interviews with personnel and survivors, and exposed this “crisis” to the American public nationally on Tuesday February 3, 2009. It is no longer an industry secret.  A history making solution: “We are very proud of these new goggles, especially since they are the first and only night vision aviation goggles approved by the FAA, which said they (NIVISYS’ goggles) made ’night vision goggle history.’” Gary Higman, NIVISYS Aviation Marketing Manager. Equipment: Constructed of anodized aircraft quality-aluminum, these goggles are lighter than mil-spec. goggles thus making the NIVISYS’ goggles less susceptible to g-force stresses on the pilot’s head.  Binocular vision: Because the goggles are of binocular construction, they help improve the pilot’s depth of field which can be critical in landing and takeoffs, especially important in areas with nearby obstacles.  Power requirements: Two AA alkaline batteries (2.7-3.0 volt DC) will give 40+ hours of use. The standard battery pack holds two separate loads of AA batteries giving the user well over 80-hours of operational time.  Helmet mount: This allows the user to go under goggles unaided for aircraft instrumentation reading.  Federal approval: NIVISYS Model NVAG-6 Night Vision Aviator Goggles are the first and only night vision goggles that meet stringent FAA TSO-C164 (Federal Aviation Administration Technical Standard Order). Additionally, NIVISYS’ NVAG-6 goggles are further tested to the harsh environmental requirements of DO-160D.  External and internal aircraft light modifications: For non-military use NIVISYS’ goggles operate with a Class B filter in the objective lenses and are also compatible with existing aircraft having Class B lighting systems.  For additional information please contact:  Shults Media Relations, LLC at or NIVISYS Industries, LLC at 480-970-3222 or
